In this garden, I was able to get a glimpse of the magnificent flora found in Brazil. What surprised me most were the bromeliads. My mom used to have a bunch of these in our backyard. However, it was fascinating to discover so many colors and shapes. The Amazonian water lilies were spectacular too.

Gorgeous. I like the purple orchid best.
Interesting since the purple orchid photo was a really bad one. I cropped it to something usable since I loved the color.

Oh, Ruth, SO pretty! I really like the lily pad ones. At first I thought they were snakes…but not in a scary or yucky way. They looked so graceful. I finally figured out when I read the description but I really liked that one best! (But all of your photos were stunning.) Thank you for taking me to the Botannical Garden in rio this way!
