As you can see, Tanama Tales has a new, fresh design! Yeah!
This was a long overdue project. This past weekend I finally applied myself and started to work on the new look of the site.
There are a lot of new features, therefore, let me guide you thru the changes.
I wanted to create a professional looking and easy to navigate site. For that reason, you are going to notice the addition of new menus, buttons and widgets.
Also, I wanted something easy on the eyes. You are going to notice a lot of white with pops of color here and there.
The old site had only one menu. Now there are three menus: one above the site logo (primary), one below the site logo (secondary) and one at the end of the page (footer).
On the primary menu, I updated the statistics on the Advertise page.
Two very important pages were added to the menu.
My Services page detaisl what I can do for brands and small business. Contact me if you need help with analytics, social media management, campaigns or content creation.
The menu includes a page called Portfolio too. In there, you can find out about websites which have featured my writing and photography.
The secondary menu has a new Destinations page. Go there if you want to take a look at posts for specific countries.
My sidebar has been totally changed.
To start, there is a link to a Getting Started page. This is a guide for first time visitors, new readers or those wanting to take a look at the site’s most popular and useful posts.
Now, it is super easy to subscribe by e-mail (and receive information about new posts). You just have to enter your e-mail address and hit the subscribe button. Plus, there are buttons to follow me on Facebook and Google +. I am always posting photos, links and interesting stuff on those channels. If you are not following me yet, well, what are you waiting for?
There are new pictures buttons to make Category navigation easier. Click any of the buttons to have quick access to Destinations, Photography, Travel Tips, Stories and General Thoughts.
I am delighted to announce that there a lot of options to share individual posts.
You are going to notice a floating bar (left side of the post) containing Facebook, Twitter, Google + and StumbleUpon buttons. The bar stays with you while you are reading the posts.
A sharing bar containing Twitter, Facebook, Google +, Pinterest, StumbleUpon and E-mail buttons is located at the end of the post. There is also a green button in that bar. By clicking it, you can share my content on other services that are not available in the main bar.
There are Pin buttons at the beginning and end of the posts. This allows you to pin individual images.
The footer gives you another opportunity for easy navigation (popular and recent post). In addition, it gives you the opportunity to follow me on Pinterest.
At this moment, the major changes to the site have been done. I still have plans for other minor changes and tweaks. I am working hard on making your user experience better.
Let me know your thoughts
If you have comments or suggestions about the new site, let me know. Is there something you will like to see here? What do you think will make navigation better?
As always, thanks for reading.
