Can you believe that we are already in 2016? When I was a kid, I remember my head wandering about how the new millennium was going to be. Fast forward several years and here we are.
From the bottom of my heart I wish you all a happy, blessed and prosperous year!
2015 was great and I am looking forward to what 2016 has in store.
On a professional level, I am ready to enter my second year as a data analyst for a technology company.
On a personal level, I am inspired to make several lifestyle changes (eat healthy, exercise more). In addition, I am looking into different ways to give back to the community and those in need.
In relation to travel, I am already looking into new adventures. Looks like we are visiting Mexico with friends this upcoming weekend. I am looking into returning to Spain (and add Portugal too). I have the desire to visit more National Parks (since the agency is going to be celebrating its centenary). Plus, I am sure a lot of unplanned, out of the blue adventures are going to pop up.
The funny thing is that before writing this post I looked at the post I wrote last year during this same period. All the resolutions and / or intentions mentioned there still resonate with me as good ideas for this year. There are certain things that are good to keep in mind.
And guess what? This little blog turned 5 during the holidays. Isn’t that crazy? On top of that, I am three posts away from 600.
My lovely side project is so grown up. Sometimes, I cannot believe I have been doing this for so many years. However, travel and blogging are two things I truly enjoy. I cannot imagine my life without one or the other.
Last year, was a very good one for the blog. I met tons of new bloggers, had the pleasure to participate in multiple link parties, answered tons of comments, covered events and even reviewed a hotel.
This year I have plans to redesign the site, put in action several social media strategies and pursue more partnerships. And, let’s not forget about content. I still have tons of stories to share about Spain, California and Arizona.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank one and each of you for stopping by, for taking a second to make me part of your life. I feel I don’t give enough if I take into consideration all that I receive. Your brilliant energy and love is what keeps me going.
Happy New Year! Keep living, keep loving and keep traveling.
What are your plans for this year? Drop me a line and let me know if I can help you in some way. And, I mean it!
P.S. This is a good time to like my social media profiles if you have not done it already.

Ruth, this is a wonderful post. I even saved half of the pictures you shared because the quotes are perfect for where I’m at right now – I’m going to print them out and stick them onto my mood board so I’m reminded of what to chase. I’m continuing my role as an Assistant GIS Analyst at my new job too and I’m hoping as the New Year unfolds I can make an impact and do a good job, and I’m also keeping my eyes open for nay way I can get involved in more environmental work too and of course, travel! I need to travel! Loved this post and Happy New Year! – Tasha

Tasha, thanks for stopping by. I wish you the best for the year. I am sure you try to do your best at work and rewards will follow. Like you said, you have to travel. Start by planning and taking an action like buying a ticket. In that way, there is no turning back.

Happy blogiversary, Ruth. You did a lot last year. Wow, nearly 600 posts, that’s impressive!
Do you track your blog’s stats to see how it is progressing? I have been doing that. Not only does it help me see where to focus my efforts, it’s a real pick-me-up when I go through low moments wondering whether anyone is reading my blog.
Looking forward to reading a lot more of your stories in the coming year. Happy 2016 as well!

Linda, yes, I have a good idea on what topics do better. I am also trying to get more links by using Instagram and Pinterest. It is fun to have a blog. I love it so much.
Thanks for your kind words. I wish you the best in this year.
