Guess what? Michael from Strux Travel nominated me to participate in “The 7 Links” Project. Whoooo!!!
Lately, I have seen a lot of bloggers posting their “7 Links” articles. I have read a good number of interesting posts because of the project. Therefore, I was elated when Michael asked me to participate.
Let’s get to the specifics. In case you haven’t heard about this project, I am going to give a short summary of the concept.
The brains behind the Trip Base travel site came up with a fantastic idea to honor those old posts floating somewhere on the Internet (or in your blog’s database). Once you get nominated by another blogger to participate, you post links for 7 of your previously published articles. Each link has to fall in one of the categories specified by Trip Base. Once you are done, you nominate 5 other bloggers to do the same. Voila! Easy, right?
For me, it was not easy to decide on a post for each category. As a blogger, I really enjoy every post I prepare and hold close to my heart a lot of them. After giving the project some thought, this is what I came with:
MOST BEAUTIFUL POST
El Cañuelo, Puerto Rico – This was probably the most difficult category for me. In my heart, I knew that I had to choose a post related to land where I opened my eyes to this world. Hence, I chose this post about the San Juan de la Cruz Fort (aka, El Cañuelo) located in Puerto Rico (near San Juan, the capital). I got a lot of positive feedback about the pictures of the fort and surrounding beaches.
Extra beautiful post: I recently posted pictures of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim. That one also qualifies as a super, mega gorgeous post.
MOST POPULAR POST
Luzhi Water Town, China – I am not sure how this happened but there was uproar when I published this post. A lot of people raved about it. Even though the photos were taken with a cheap point and shoot, readers were seduced by the town’s canals, bridges and old houses. Maybe part of the charm was finding this undiscovered treasure in a corner of China.
MOST CONTROVERSIAL POST
9 Things Tour Companies Don’t Tell You – It is not my intention to be controversial. Nevertheless, a blog is about sharing your ideas and experiences. Not everybody is going to agree with what you have to say. This is not a controversial post per se but some commenters deviated from the main idea. Others didn’t agree with my description of tour companies experiences.
MOST HELPFUL POST
Avoid being robbed while traveling – This post discusses a lot of ways to avoid being the target or victim of thieves while abroad. I believed readers found it helpful. Others took the article as a reminder of how important is to be alert while traveling. The comments really cheered me up. There is nothing better than helping others.
MOST SURPRISING SUCCESS
Most incoherent and shameful things I have heard in my travels – Let me tell you that the success of this post caught me by surprise. I put it together in about 10 minutes. Then, I read it to my husband and he remembered me of more “things”. We couldn’t stop laughing about what I wrote. Then, I posted it and the response was amazing. The best part is that commenters shared a lot of their own experiences (fun, fun, fun).
DIDN’T GET THE ATTENTION IT DESERVED
Life is the best gift you have been given – This post didn’t get a lot of attention because it was one of the first posts published in this blog. As you can imagine, my readership was close to none at that moment. I think it is a good time to expose more people to this great post. I need to read it once in a while to remember what a blessing life is.
POST I AM MOST PROUD OF
Only you can do something for yourself – This was like the 5th article I posted. I am proud of it because it talks about how you cannot do the same things everyday and expect different results. My blog started with a desire to bring positive change into my life. I wanted to do something out of the ordinary and felt like writing about it. In my case, I did something for myself and wanted to share the joy with others.
Well, this is it. I have completed “The 7 Links” Project (yeahhhh!).
It is time to nominate some fantastic bloggers. I want to pass the ball to the following girls:
Ana from Ana Travels
Mica from Kay Pacha Travels
Eileen from Freelance Tourist
Jasmine from Jasmine Wanders
Rease from Travelated
Do you agree with my selections?
