A Ferry Ride in San Diego

Last year, I took the ferry, connecting Downtown San Diego to Coronado Island, for the first time.  It is a short trip of about 15 minutes.  In fact, you spend more time on the pier than on the boat.  But this is probably, the most efficient (and cheap) way to have glorious views of the bay, the Coronado bridge, the USS Midway and the line of modern buildings standing on a prosperous part of the city.

Not only that, this ride highlights why San Diego is a city to spend innumerable days: clear skies, blue sea, warm breeze, naval history, long piers and fun atmosphere (where else are you going to find a pirate boat sailing the bay).

Here are some photos which remind me of that day and many of the things I love about San Diego.   Enjoy!

  1. Beautiful photos. I have never tried this ferry. I need to start doing more touristy stuff in San Diego.
