Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
Confucius
*************
There is beauty everywhere.
You just have to look around you to find it.
Well, if you can’t see it, there may be a problem.
Because in the darkest night,
in the most barren desert,
in the deepest abysm of the soul,
there is something good to be found.
Something that can help you to interchange futile efforts for positive actions.
Sometimes we make every possible effort to get disconnected from the real world. We spend too much time indoors. Have someone asked you if it is rainy or sunny outside and you can’t respond because you don’t have any idea of what is going on beneath the walls encapsulating you? We spend too much time in front of the computer, TV or phone. Hours stuck in traffic fly by. You don’t even remember the last time you went outside the city.
And yes, maybe life is full of responsibilities and chores. That’s fine but let me remember you something important: if you don’t take time or make an effort to dissipate the barriers that separate you from what it is out there, you may become insensitive to life’s wide array of options. It is like the possibility to see outside of what you have created dries up.
Then, when life starts to crumble into pieces, you don’t know what to do, where to look or who to call. When the bone breaking moment arrives, you just see shadows. You cannot take a breath of fresh air. You don’t know in what direction you can find the mountains. You believe nobody can help you.
That is why I encourage you to feel each day the beauty surrounding you. Make an attempt to pay attention to the details and rejoice in the charming, colorful or funny things you find along the way. Make sure to keep close everything that gives you true joy.
You know, let me give you an example.
To celebrate my birthday, I went to Santa Barbara with my husband. I want to show you the small things that made me smile.
Tons of flowers (ohh, how I love color)
Unusual flower / pine cone
Delicious Breakfast
Funny Signs
The Most Amazingly Decorated Indian Restaurant I Have Ever Seen
Pretty Murals
Walls covered with trees and flowers
A VW covered in plaster. It had a funny sign too.
A super cute squirrel
A colorful bird in the pier (I haven’t see one like this before)
And the cutest dog ever (even my husband liked it and he hate dogs most days)
A brave girl once said: “I don’t think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains”. The girl who said that is called Anne Frank. If someone living through the Holocaust can say something like that, well, I guess we all can cling to the beautiful and good things that will not cease to exist and have hope in the future.
Remember to share the beauty you encounter with others. Because it feels so good to brighten someone’s day.
Share this post if it brought a smile to your face. If you want you can upload a picture of something beautiful to my fan page.
Tell me. What beautiful things have you discovered lately?

If we don’t take the time to notice the little pleasures, it’s so easy to fall into being controlled by the hassles of daily life. A deep breath, a leisure walk, and a positive attitude is the solution to refresh our minds and enjoy the simple things that are sometimes the best. Thanks for the reminder!

This is so true. And it is one of the biggest realizations that travel and practicing photography have given me.
